Spring Garden’s Austin turns in monster performance while crossing 3,000 career points. Jacksonville girls improve to 5-1. JCA boys and girls victorious. Jacksonville boys, Cherokee County girls win.

SPRING GARDEN — Newly minted Alabama signee Ace Austin poured in 49 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and dished out nine assists while passing a big career milestone Thursday, and Spring Garden downed visiting Springville 80-58.
Austin passed 3,000 career points, reaching 3,007.
Maggie Jarrett added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block for the Panthers (1-0). Avery Steward and Olivia Law both contributed six points.
Steward’s points came on a pair of 3-pointers. She also had three boards and a block. Law grabbed seven rebounds and had a pair of assists.
Spring Garden will play Piedmont at Champion Sports Academy in Alexandria on Saturday.
JACKSONVILLE 68, TALLADEGA 28: Neveah Nicholson led four Jacksonville players in double figures with 14 points, and the Golden Eagles improved to 5-1.
Nicholson also had eight steals and four assists.
Mya Swain and Alexis Phillips added 12 points apiece. Phillips had five rebounds and seven steals.
Jayci Taylor had 10 points, six rebounds and five steals.
Emerson Weaver had seven steals and three rebounds to go with six points.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 48, ASD 12: Modasti Carr scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Jacksonvillle Christian improved to 2-0.
Addy Lee added 14 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and four steals, and K.B. Hudson added seven points and five boards.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 54, PIEDMONT 35: Ellisan Givens scored 13 points to lead Cherokee County, and Nevaeh Gaidurgis added 12.
The Warriors also got eight points from Deannia Starr.
Piedmont’s Cayla Brothers scored a game-high 14 points, and Carson Young hit two 3-pointers to account for her six points.
Boys’ games
JACKSONVILLE 85, TALLADEGA 74: Kamouri Harmon hit three 3-pointers en route to 22 points, and Jacksonville’s boys improved to 2-1.
Aaron Nixon also hit three threes and scored 21 points, and Ben Pridgen added 16 points. Mason Scoggins scored nine.
Talladega’s Rlandis Jones matched Harmon’s 22 points. Jykavien Wright added 15, and Ronson Moten scored 14.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 59, ASD 30: Jesse Gannaway led the Thunder (2-0) with 21 points, Noah Lee added 14 points and 17 rebounds. Bryson Dowdey added 11 points, four rebounds, two steals and five assists.
