Gannaway surpasses 1,-000 career points in JCA win. Austin scores 32 points as Spring Garden girls win defensive struggle in Champions final. Also, reports from Oxford, Jacksonville, Weaver, Faith Christian and Cleburne County boys plus Saks and Oxford girls.

JACKSONVILLE — Jesse Gannaway crossed the 1,000-career-points threshold, and Jacksonville Christian’s boys beat visiting Saks 69-65 on Tuesday.

Gannaway scored 33 points on the night and passed 1,000 for his career in the first half. He also pulled down 10 rebounds and had four steals.

Noah Lee scored 15 points and fetched 26 rebounds to go with six assists, and Bryson Dowdey had 12 points and six rebounds.

FAIRFIELD 74, OXFORD 71 (OT): Playing in the Heritage Classic at Fairfield, Oxford (5-1) suffered its first loss of the season despite 24 points from Marcus Perry and 21 from Jaylen Alexander.

Perry hit six 3-pointers, and Alexander hit four. The Yellow Jackets hit 13 threes overall.

Jayden Lewis scored 17 points, including two 3-pointers. The score was 67-67 at the end of regulation.

JACKSONVILLE 77, GASTON 45: Aaron Nixon hit four 3-pointers en route to 24 points, and Jacksonville’s boys beat visiting Gaston.

I’King Elder added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, and Kamouri Harmon hit three threes on the way to 11 points. 

Mason Scoggins added eight points.

PLEASANT VALLEY 71, RAGLAND 37: Hunter Sparks poured in 22 points to lead Pleasant Valley.

Braxton Salster scored 14 points, and Jaden Sparks added 13.

T Soles paced Ragland with 20 points.

WEAVER 63, WHITE PLAINS 46: Kaden Gooden hit four 3-pointers en route to 16 points top lead the Bearcats.

Junior Allen and KeShawn Allen scored 14 points apiece, and D.J. Marbury added 11.

White Plains’ Caleb Lynch hit six 3-pointers to account for 18 points.

FAITH CHRISTIAN 84, RANDOLPH COUNTY 54: Playing in its Thanksgiving Tournament, Faith Christian got 20 points from Colton Reese, 18 from Parker Robertson and 17 from Colin Anderson.

Anderson hit a team-high three of Faith’s eight 3-pointers.

Mo Winston paced Randolph County with 17 points, and Brian Bacak hit four 3-pointers on the way to 14 points.

CLEBURNE COUNTY 68, WINTERBORO 56: Playing in Faith Christian’s Thanksgiving tourney, Cleburne County got 19 points from Cade Shubert, 18 from Lyric Ware and 12 from Matthew Wilson.

Girls

SPRING GARDEN 48, CHEROKEE COUNTY 37: Ace Austin nearly matched the points output of Spring Garden’s opponent Tuesday, and the Panthers beat Cherokee County 48–37 in the finals of the Champions Thanksgiving Tournament in Alexandria.

Austin scored 32 points to go with seven rebounds.

Spring Garden also got 11 rebounds from Olivia Law and put up 33 second-half points after trailing 16-15 at halftime.

SAKS 55, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 30: Saks’ Alonna Crews led all scorers with 18 points.

Sania Angel added 15 points, and Meorri English added 13. 

Modasti Carr led JCA with 11 points. 

OXFORD 64, RUSSELL COUNTY 19: Bri Wilson scored 16 of her team-high 17 points in the third quarter as Oxford’s girls won in Opelika’s Thanksgiving tourney.

Takayvia Boyd scored 16 points, and Ava Thomas added 14.
