Lewis leads balanced effort as Anniston’s boys down Jacksonville. Also, wins for Piedmont, Oxford, Weaver, Glencoe, Gaston, Munford and Coosa Christian boys, JCA boys and girls, Ohatchee boys and girls and Spring Garden girls.

ANNISTON — Kyree Lewis led four Anniston players in double figures with 17 points, and the Bulldogs beat visiting Jacksonville 68-36 on Friday.

Lewis hit three 3-pointers.

Caleb Ackles added 16 points, Jakorie Carr 13 and Dakyus Baker 10 as Anniston improved to 4-3.

Jacksonville got 10 points from Kamouri Harmon and eight from Ben Pridgen.

PIEDMONT 60, SPRINGVILLE 35: Rollie Pinto hit two 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 19 points, and Piedmont improved to 5-2 with a victory in the Champions Christmas Tournament, in Alexandria.

The Bulldogs also got 11 points apiece from Colton Proctor and Ishmael Bethel. Cole Wilson hit two treys on the way to eight points. 

OXFORD 84, TRINITY CHRISTIAN 42: Playing in the War Eagle Classic at Woodward Academy, Oxford got six 3-pointers and 25 points from Marcus Perry, Jr.,  on the way to a victory over Trinity, from Sharpsburg, Ga.

Perry scored 18 points in the third quarter, including five treys.

Jaylen Alexander added 19 points, and Jayden Lewis scored 17. The Yellow Jackets also got three treys and nine points from Jaylin Taylor.

WEAVER 77, VINCENT 41: Weaver got 15 points apiece from D.J. Marbury and Phoxton Benjamin. Benjamin added seven rebounds, and Marbury had six rebounds and four steals.

KeShawn Allen added 14 points with five rebounds, five assists and four steals, and Junior Allen added 12 points with six rebounds and four steals. Kaden Gooden chipped in eight points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 64, FAITH CHRISTIAN 52: JCA’s Jesse Gannaway poured in 26 points with 10 rebounds and five assists.

Noah Lee amassed 19 points, 18 rebounds and five assists, and Caleb Stallings contributed 10 points and five boards.

The Thunder led 24-14 after the first quarter and went on to improve to 7-2.

Faith’s Parker Robertson hit three treys en route to 22 points, and Colin Anderson hit three treys in a 13-point night.

OHATCHEE 78, GAYLESVILLE 36: Jake Roberson erupted for 28 points to lead Ohatchee.

Brayden Collins added 16 points, and the Indians got 10 apiece from Alston Carroll and Colby Hester.’

The victory came on the heels of Ohatchee’s 59-42 victory over Wellborn on Thursday. Roberson scored 23 points, and the Indians got 13 apiece from Carroll and Collins.

GLENCOE 51, WHITE PLAINS 34: Glencoe got 18 points from Grant Smith. Wade Seagrest added 10 and Garrett Morgan nine.

White Plains’ Bryson Cheatwood hit four 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 19 points.

GASTON 48, PLEASANT VALLEY 44: Gaston’s Mica Merriman hit 11 of 14 free throws on the way to a team-high 20 points, and Kodie Bogle added 14. 

Pleasant Valley’s Hunter Sparks poured in a game–high 24 points, and Brody Barnwell hit two 3-pointers on the way to 10 points.

MUNFORD 60, SHELBY COUNTY 50: B.J. Anderson scored 16 points, and the Lions improved to 7-4.

Josh Smith added 14 points, and Lathan Stephens scored 10. Devin Elder had nine points.

COOSA CHRISTIAN 66, DONOHO 60: Freshman Kylen Johnson led Coosa Christian with 21 points, and sophomore Jaxon Peek’s 15 points included four 3-pointers.

D.J. Mackey and Jalen Jones added eight points apiece.

Girls

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 45, FAITH CHRISTIAN 32: Addy Lee led JCA with 21 points to go with seven rebounds, six steals and three assists.

Modasti Carr added 16 points, 11 rebounds and three steals as the Thunder improved to 6-3, 2-1 in Class 1A, Area 12 play.

Anna Kate Robertson led Faith with 10 points, and Emma Shaw hit two threes while scoring eight points.

OHATCHEE 41, GAYLESVILLE 16: Emily Riddle paced Ohatchee with 10 points. Greenlee Orman added nine and Tabi Davidson eight.

SPRING GARDEN 54, GADSDEN CITY 36: Ace Austin’s 32 points included three 3-pointers. She also had five rebounds.

Olivia Law turned in 10 points and five rebounds. Maggie Jarrett had seven points, five assists and four rebounds, and and Montana Highfield grabbed a team-best 10 boards.
