Lewis leads way as Anniston boys avenge earlier loss to Alexandria. Anniston’s girls make it a sweep of Valley Cubs. Austin’s near triple-double lifts Spring Garden girls.

ALEXANDRIA — Anniston’s and Alexandria’s boys played another close game Tuesday. This time, Anniston came out on top.

Kyree Lewis led three Bulldogs in double figures with 12 points, and they won at Alexandria, 49-46.

Alexandria won at Anniston 56-52 at Anniston on Dec. 17.

Lewis hit two 3-pointers, and Anniston got 10 points apiece from Dakyus Baker and Tariq Judkins.

Alexandria’s Quendavion McDowell scored a game-high 13 points. Cole Wheeler added 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

Girls

ANNISTON 45, ALEXANDRIA 35: Anniston got 11 points from Jada Fomby, 10 from Arianna Storey and nine from Liberty Lewis. Alexandria got 11 points apiece from Landry Patterson and Allyssa Hunt. 

SPRING GARDEN 81, SPRIN VALLEY (WVa.) 66: Playing in the Greenville (Tenn.) Holiday Tournament, Ace Austin led Spring Garden with 34 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and three steals.

Maggie Jarrett hit five of 12 3-point shots to account for her 15 points, and Olivia Law finished with 11 points, and Avery Steward went 3-for-4 on treys on the way to 10 points.
