JCA’s Lee, Maxpreps’ No. 1 rebounder, shows out again as Thunder improves to 10-2. Also, wins for Oxford, Alexandria, Anniston, Etowah, Ohatchee and Pleasant Valley boys; Spring Garden, Alexandria, Saks, Ohatchee and Pleasant Valley girls.

SAKS — Jacksonville Christian’s opponents know to keep Noah Lee off of the boards. It’s easier said than done.
In a typical performance, the nation’s rebounding leader turned in 14 to go with 23 points and five assists as JCA beat Saks 72-67 on Friday.
The Thunder improved to 10-2 headed into Tuesday’s Class 1A, Area 12 game against undefeated Spring Garden at home.
Lee, known as a quarterback prospect for JCA’s eight-man Christian league football team, becomes more of a receiver in basketball. He averages 17.9 rebounds a game, which tops Maxpreps’ national list.
His nearest competitor, Connor Sheridan, from Portola, Calif., averages 17.3.
Lee and Jesse Gannaway have become tag-team producers for JCA. Gannaway scored 29 points to go with 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals against Saks.
Gannaway surpassed 1,000 career points earlier this season.
The Thunder also got 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals from Bryson Dowdey.
OXFORD 65, SHADES VALLEY 49: Jaylen Alexander scored 20 of his game-high 26 points in the second half as Oxford improved to 14-5 overall, 2-0 in Class 6A, Area 11.
Alexander hit six of seven free throws, all in the second half, and both of his 3-pointers in the third quarter.
Jayden Lewis added 19 points, and Marcus Perry, Jr., hit two 3-pointers on the way to nine points.
ALEXANDRIA 69, WHITE PLAINS 61: Cole Wheeler hit four 3-pointers en route to 21 points to lead Alexandria. He scored 17 points in the first half.
The Valley Cubs, 13-3 overall and 1-0 in Class 4A, Area 12, got 13 points apiece from Jaylen Alexander and J.J. Beason. Henderson hit three treys
Quendavion McDowell scored all 11 of his points in the second half. McDowell hit nine of 12 free throws, and the Valley Cubs hit 25 of 39 overall.
White Plains’ Ethan Turner hit three 3-pointers on the way to 21 points. Bryson Cheatwood added 14 points, Will Graham 11 points (three treys) and Crew Martin nine (two treys).
ANNISTON 79, DONOHO 47: Dylan Goodson scored all 18 of his points in the first half as Anniston (10-3) made it seven wins in a row.
Nizaiah Gibson and Caleb Ackles added 10 points apiece. Jakorie Carr and Anthony Davis added nine apiece.
ETOWAH 51, PIEDMONT 37: Jacob Turner hit three 3-pointers while leading Etowah with 19 points, and the Blue Devils snapped Piedmont’s five-game winning streak.
Jameson Scissum added 14 points, and Bennett Reeves hit three 3-pointers to account for his nine points.
Piedmont (9-3) got nine points on three 3-pointers from Rollie Pinto. Colton Proctor added eight points, and Taylon Swain added seven.
Gibson hit two 3-pointers.
Donoho’s Jordan Cameron scored a game-high 21 points, and Cash Worley added 12.
OHATCHEE 78, RAGLAND 21: Jake Roberson scored all 19 of his points in the first half as Ohatchee improved to 12-4.
Brayden Collins hit two 3-pointers en route to 12 points, and Alston Carroll added 11 points.
PLEASANT VALLEY 75, FAITH CHRISTIAN 37: Pleasant Valley’s Hunter Sparks poured in 30 points, 20 in the first half.
Knox Taylor and Jaden Sparks each scored nine, each hitting three 3-pointers. Brody Barnwell hit two treys en route to eight points.
Faith Christian got 10 points apiece from Parker Robertson and Colton Reese, each hitting one 3-pointer. Ean Taft added nine points.
MINOR 75, JACKSONVILLE 46: Minor’s Matthew Grice and Carmelo Burroughs scored 15 points apiece, and Ramoine Taylor and Isaiah McClain scored 12 apiece.
Ben Pridgen led Jacksonville with 16 points, and Mason Scroggins added seven.
Girls
SPRING GARDEN 66, SAND MOUNTAIN 20: Maggie Jarrett hit five of eight 3-pointers while leading Spring Garden with 21 points.
Ace Austin added 17 points with team highs of 12 assists, nine rebounds and five steals. Avery Steward hit three 3-pointers to account for her nine points.
SHADES VALLEY 54, OXFORD 53: Shay Montgomer hit eight of 12 free throws en route to a team-high 16 points, but Oxford fell to 11-8 overall, 1-1 area.
Ava Thomas hit two 3-pointers while scoring 13 points, and Bri Wilson hit two treys on the way to 11 points. Mykynlei Mosley also scored 11 points, hitting one trey.
ALEXANDRIA 64, WHITE PLAINS 17: Landry Patterson led four Valley Cubs in double figures with 13 points, including one 3-pointer.
Alexandria got 11 points from Charlee Parris and 10 apiece from Sumira Duncan and Kate Wheeler. Allyssa Hunt added eight.
Brooksly Thielker led White Plains with nine points.
SAKS 56, JCA 39: Sania Angel led Saks with 16 points, and Alonna Crews added 12.
Jakailynn Carter’s 11 points included three 3-pointers, and Meorri English added eight points.
JCA (7-5) got 16 points and five rebounds from Addy Lee. Katie Beth Hudsoon added eight points and 16 rebounds.
OHATCHEE 48, RAGLAND 12: Lindsey Zurchin hit three 3-pointers on the way to 11 points as the Indians improved to 10-5. Tabi Davidson added 10 points.
Krista Bowlin led Ragland with eight points.
PLEASANT VALLEY 43, FAITH CHRISTIAN 29: Lilly Robinson hit four 3-pointers on the way to 13 points to lead Pleasant Valley. Haylie Lee added eight, and Ashlynn Salster scored seven.
Faith Christian’s Anna Kate Robertson scored a game-high 15 points.
MINOR 47, JACKSONVILLE 42: Brooke Adams led Minor with 18 points, and Janya Mines added nine.
Jacksonville’s Jayci Taylor hit a 3-pointer and seven of nine free throws en route to 16 points. Alexis Phillips and Neveah Nicholson each hit two 3-pointers on the way to eight points.
