Forrest, Aquirre come through as Alexandria wins in OT. Anniston boys make it nine wins in a row. Piedmont, Jacksonville, Spring Garden and Westbrook Christian sweep. Also, victories for White Plains and Munford boys, Cherokee County and Ranburne girls.

ALEXANDRIA — Cleat Forrest tied the game with a 3-pointer with six seconds left in regulation, and Chris Aquirre’s free throws with 18 seconds left in overtime made the difference as Alexandria beat visiting Cherokee County 70-68 in Tuesday’s Class 4A, Area 12 action.
Jaylen Henderson scored 22 points, including Alexandria’s lone bucket in overtime. Alexandria (16-3) hit six of eight free throws in overtime and 17 of 22 for the game.
Alexandria’s Quendavion McDowell added 19 points, and Aquirre added nine.
The Valley Cubs hit nine 3-pointers, including two apiece from Henderson, Aguirre and Forrest.
Cherokee County got 21 points from Tatum Perry, including five 3-pointers, and 20 from Reid Jacoway. Jayquan Diamond added 13.
PIEDMONT 73, GLENCOE 71: Ishmael Bethel poured in 25 points, including four 3-pointers, and Piedmont improved to 10-4 overall, 2-1 in Class 3A, Area 12.
Rollie Pinto added 17 points, including two 3-pointers. Cole Wilson hit three 3-pointers on the way to 11 points, and Colton Proctor added 10 points.
Wade Segrest paced Glencoe with 22 points, including three 3-pointers, and Garrett Morgan hit four treys on the way to 21 points. The Yellow Jackets got 15 points from Grant Smith and 11 from Jayden Patton.
ANNISTON 76, HANDLEY 61: Make it nine wins in a row for Anniston’s boys.
Dylan Goodson scored 15 points, and Anniston avenged an earlier loss to Handley with a victory in Tuesday’s Class 4A, Area 8 play, improving to 12-3 overall.
Caleb Ackles and Dakyus Baker added 13 points apiece, with Baker hitting two 3-pointers. Jakorie Carr added 10 points.
Handley’s Elijah Stegall scored a game-high 22 points.
WHITE PLAINS 84, CLEBURNE COUNTY 59: Will Graham hit five of White Plains’ 10 3-pointers on the way to 21 points, and the Wildcats won in Class 4A, Area 12 play.
Bryson Cheatwood added 17 points. Ethan Turner hit two 3-pointers en route to 13 points, and the Wildcats got 10 points apiece from Crew Martin and Cash Pritchett.
Cade Shubert led Cleburne County with 15 points. Lyric Ware added 13, and Matthew Wilson added 11.
JACKSONVILLE 66, LINCOLN 32: Mason Scoggins led the way with 12 points, and Jacksonville improved to 8-10 overall, 2-0 in Class 5A, Area 11 play.
Quinn Weaver scored all 10 of his points in the third quarter, and the Golden Eagles got eight apiece from Aaron Nixon and Sean Herbert.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 78, OHATCHEE 65: Titus Jones hit two 3-pointers while scoring 24 points, and Westbrook won in Class 3A, Area 12 play.
Brady Carden added 18 points, including two 3-pointers, and Gavin Slocum added nine.
Ohatchee’s Brayden Collins hit two 3-pointers en route to 25 points, and Jake Roberson scored 25.
SPRING GARDEN 73, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 41: John Welsh scored a game-high 25 points, including 17 in the third quarter, as Spring Garden improved to 17-0 with a win in Class 1A, Area 12 play.
Noah Barber added 12 points, all on four 3-pointers in the first quarter.
Connor Bates contributed 12 points for the Panthers, including a pair of treys. Jaylen Brown added eight points, and Zane Edwards finished with seven points.
Noah Lee led JCA (10-3) with 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Jesse Gannaway scored 16 points.
MUNFORD 44, DONOHO 37: B.J. Anderson scored 17 points as Munford improved to 10-4. Devin Elder added 13 points.
Ethan Crawford paced Donoho with 15 points, and Jordan Cameron added seven.
JEFFERSON CHRISTIAN 68, COOSA CHRISTIAN 60: Freshman Kylen Johnson led Coosa Christian with 18 points.
Girls
JACKSONVILLE 60, LINCOLN 30: Alexis Phillips hit four 3-pointers on the way to 24 points, and Jacksonville improved to 15-6, 2-0 in Class 5A, Area 11 play.
Neveah Nicholson hit two treys en route to 13 points, and Ontarriah Braxton’s 12 points included two treys.
Lariah Robinson led Lincoln with nine points, and Aubrey Machen added eight.
SPRING GARDEN 76, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 28: Kristen Lewis led Spring Garden with 21 points, and Spring Garden improved to 21–1.
Ace Austin added 13 points with eight assists and six steals, and Olivia Law had 11 points and six rebounds.
Addy Lee led JCA (7-6, 2-2 area) with 13 points and six rebounds. Modasti Carr added nine points.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 46, OHATCHEE 44: Westbrook Christian got balanced scoring, with nine points apiece from Addi Hammontree, Kylee Wyatt and Jordan Brooks, and won in Class 3A, Area 12 play.
Brooks hit three 3-pointers.
Ohatchee’s Lindsey Zurchin hit four 3-pointers, three in the first quarter, on the way to 14 points, and Tabi Davidson added 12 points.
PIEDMONT 45, GLENCOE 42: Morgan Studdard led the way with 14 points, and Piedmont upped to 7-9 overall, 2-1 in Class 3A, Area 12. She scored all 14 points in the second half.
Carson Young hit three 3-pointers on the way to 13 points.
Glencoe’s Kinlee Montgomery scored a game-high 25 points, including two 3-pointers.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 53, ALEXANDRIA 40: Nevaeh Gaidurgis scored a game-high 20 points as the Warriors won in Class 4A, Area 12 play. Libby Curry’s 15-point night included three 3-pointers.
Landy Patterson led Alexandria with 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Sumira Duncan added 10 points, and Allyssa Hunt hit two 3-pointers on the way to nine points.
RANBURNE 59, WELLBORN 4: Ranburne’s Tinley Phillips hit three 3-pointers on the way to 13 points. Aubree Anglin added nine points, and Reaghan Duke’s eight-point night included two 3-pointers.
