Alexandria’s Jamarcus, Jasmine Stokes AJGA players of the year in their age groups. White Plains’ Cobb third, McElroy fourth.

VESTAVIA HILLS — Alexandria High School golf has a new boast … two Alabama Junior Golf Association players of the year.
Jamarcus Stokes is 2024 player of the year in the boys’ 14-15 age group, and Jasmine Stokes is girls’ 14-under player of the year.
The Stokes became the first brother/sister golfers to win first in both age groups. They received the honors at Thursday’s banquet at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center. The top three golfers from each age division in the state were recognized.
A total of 324 junior golfers competed in the 2024 AJGO season, and three Calhun County golfers came away as top-three finishers. White Plains’ Aubree Cobb finished third in the girls’ 14-under division.
Jasmine Stokes had 10 wins in 14 events. Jamarcus Stokes played in 14 events with nine wins.
Cobb had four wins in 11 events.
White Plains’ Camryn McElroy took fourth in the girls’ 14-under division. She had four wins in six events.
