Alexandria, White Plains sweep way to victories on their senior nights. Sparks leads Pleasant Valley’s boys past Saks.

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria’s boys and girls celebrated senior night Friday with a sweep of Cleburne County in Class 4A, Area 12 play.

Alexandria’s third-ranked boys won 78-56 to improve to 21-3, and the girls won 60-22 to reach 11-13.

Senior players honored included Chris Aguirre, Tyson Boozer, Sumira Duncan, Cleat Forrest, Jaylen Henderson, Allyssa Hunt and Quendavion McDowell,

McDowell led the boys with 24 points against Cleburne County, and Henderson hit three 3–pointers on the way to 19 points.

J.J. Beason’s nine points included two 3-pointers.

Cleburne County got 19 points from Lyric Ware and 18 from Cade Shubert.

Duncan paced Alexandria’s girls with 14 points, and Charlee Parris added 12. Hunt added nine points. Cleburne County’s Hannah Turley scored a team-high 14 points.

WHITE PLAINS SENIOR NIGHT: The Wildcats also swept to victory on senior night. The boys beat Faith Christian 67-41, and the girls 38-37.

Senior players honored included Leighton Arnold, Chloe Cromer, Abbie Dickeson, Annabella Fouche, Harper Hall, Caleb Lynch, Cash Pritchett, Tyler Roberts, Gavin Sheehy, Callie Sprayberry, Prater Stokes and Ethan Turner.

Turner led the boys with 15 points, and Bryson Cheatwood added 13. Pritchett added eight points.

Faith got 14 from Parker Robertson and 12 on four 3-pointers from Dylan Rogers. Colin Anderson added 11.

Brooksly Thielker led White Plains’ girls with 18 points, and Dickeson added nine. Faith got 12 from Anna Kate Robertson and 12 from Serenity Pate.

PLEASANT VALLEY 64, SAKS 59: Pleasant Valley’s Hunter Sparks scored a team-high 25 points, Braxton Salster added 16, and Brody Barnwell added 11.

Saks’ Lajuan Curry hit four 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 30 points. Christian Hall’s 13 points included three 3-pointers, and Jamaury Reid hit three treys to account for his nine points.

COOSA CHRISTIAN 69, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 53: Freshman Kylen Johnson scored 22 points, and Coosa Christian improved to 16-6.

Sophomore Jaxon Peek added 16 points, Junior Grayson Malone 11 points and senior Jaylen Jones 10 points.

Girls

SAKS 62, PLEASANT VALLEY 16: Sonia Angel poured in 24 points, and Saks improved to 15-4 on the season. The Wildcats also got 22 points from Madison Turner and 10 from Alonna Crews.

Haylie Lee led Pleasant Valley with seven points,.
