Anderson breaks school record for 3-pointers, shoots Faith to victory in area tournament. Alexandria, Cherokee County girls advance to area final. Also, regular–season victories for Jacksonville boys and girls, Jacksonville Christian boys and girls.

ANNISTON — Colin Anderson hit a school–record 10 3-pointers to account for his 30 points, and Faith Christian eliminated Gaylesville 85-61 in Friday’s opener of the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament.
The Lions will play top-ranked Spring Garden in Saturday’s 4 p.m. semifinal at Spring Garden, with the winner clinching a berth in the area-final and subregional rounds.
Parker Robertson hit three 3-pointers en route to 22 points. Toby Ricard added 10 points.
Faith overcame a 40-points performance by Collin Hendon, who hit four 3-pointers.
JACKSONVILLE 64, SAKS 26: Aaron Nixon scored 16 points, including two 3-pointers, and Jacksonville finished the regular season with a victory.
Mason Scoggins’ 10 points included two threes, and Drake Loggins scored nine points.
Saks’ Christian Hall scored a team-high 14 points, including two 3-pointers.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 83, WELLBORN 72: Jesse Gannaway led the way with 31 points, and JCA finished the regular season with a victory over Wellborn.
He also had six rebounds and five assists as the Thunder improved to 17-5.
Bryson Dowdey put up 25 points, and Noah Lee had 26 rebounds to go with 19 points and nine assists.
Girls
ALEXANDRIA 63, WHITE PLAINS 16: Sumira Duncan led the way with 17 points, and Alexandria advanced in the Class 4A, Area 12 tournament.
The Valley Cubs clinched a berth in the subregional round and in Monday’s area championship. They will play host Cherokee County at 5 p.m.
Landry Patterson and Allyssa Hunt scored 12 points apiece, with both hitting two 3-pointers. Kate Wheeler hit one 3-pointer on the way to eight points.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 73, CLEBURNE COUNTY 19: Elisan Givens’ 19 points included one 3-pointer, and host Cherokee County advanced in the Class 4A, Area 12 tournament.
The Warriors will play Alexandia in Monday’s 5 p.m. area final. Both teams also clinched subregional berths.
Libby Curry hit three 3-pointers on the way tpo 17 points, and Jolle Alexander added 10 points.
Hannah Turley led Cleburne Coiunty with 14 points.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 53, WELLBORN 14: Modasti Carr led JCA with 15 points, six rebounds and five steals, and the Thunder ended the regular season 12-7.
Addy Lee added 13 points, and K.B. Hudson scored nine.
JACKSONVILLE 46, SAKS 37: Neveah Nicholson led the Golden Eagles with 13 points, and Jayci Taylor added 11. Onterriah Braxton pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and four steals to go with five points.
