Pinto erupts for 35 points as Piedmont boys roll. Oxford, Jacksonville, Alexandria, Glencooe boys, Spring Garden girls also punch tickets to Northeast Regional.

WEAVER — Rolliie Pinto’s game-high 35 points included five 3-pointers and a dunk, and Piedmont’s boys beat Weaver 80-57 In their Class 3A Northeast subregional game Saturday at Weaver.
The Bulldogs (18-8) advanced to the Northeast Regional and will play Geraldine on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., just ahead of Piedmont’s girls’ game against Whitesburg Christian at noon in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Piedmont also got 16 points apiece from Colton Proctor and Ishmael Bethel.
KeShawn Allen led Weaver with 21 points, and Kaden Gooden scored 14.
OXFORD 63, FORT PAYNE 34: Back from a bout with the flu, Jaylin Taylor hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 points, and Oxford’s boys downed visiting Fort Payne 63–34 in their Class 6A Northeast subregional game Saturday.
Oxford advanced to the Northeast Regional and will play Mountain Brook on Feb. 17 at a time to be determined.
The Yellow Jackets also got 13 points apiece from Jaylen Alexander and Marcus Perry Jr., who hit three 3-pointers.
Jayden Lewis added eight points.
JACKSONVILLE 49, SPRINGVILLE 38: Kamouri Harmon hit two 3-pointers on the way to 14 points, and Jacksonville’s boys won their Class 5A subregional and advanced to the Northeast Regional.
The Golden Eagles’ boys and girls will play Wenonah on Friday, the girls at 9 a.m. and boys at 10:30 a.m. in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Quinn Weaver continued his hot 3-point shooting, hitting three on the way to 13 points. Aaron NIxon added nine points.
ALEXANDRIA 62, ONEONTA 41: Quendavion McDowell scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half, and Alexandria’s boys won their Class 4A subregional and advanced to the Northeast Regional.
Alexandria boys and girls will play Thursday in Pete Mathews Coliseum, the girls against Madison Academy at 9 a.m. and boys against Plainview at 1:30 p.m.
Jaylen Henderson scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half Saturday, hiitting two 3-pointers. Cleat Forrest added 10 points.
GLENCOE 69, SAKS 41: Wade Seagrest hit four 3-pointers on the way to 25 points, and Glencoe’s boys won their Class 3A subregional to earn a berth in next week’s Northeast Regional.
The Yellow Jackets will play Fyffe on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Glencoe also got 10 points apiece from Jayden Patton and Grant Smith on Saturday and eight from Garrett Morgan.
Girls
SPRING GARDEN 87, OAKWOOD ACADEMY 35: Ace Austin hit six of 10 3-point shots on the say to 45 points, and top-ranked and two-time defending Class 1A state champion Spring Garden’s girls cruised through its Northeast subregional on Saturday.
The Panthers clinched a berth in the Northeast Regional and will play Winterboro on Tuesday at noon in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Austin also had 18 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Montana Highfield added 13 points and six rebounds, and Olivia Law added 11 points and six rebounds.
