Pleasant Valley wins Glencoe Invitational in walk-off fashion. Also, reports from Handley, Munford, Jacksonville and Ohatchee softball.

GLENCOE — Lilly Robinson’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning gave Pleasant Valley’s softball team a 3-2, walk-off victory over Etowah on Saturday and the championship of the Glencoe Invitational.

The Raiders (6-1) went 4-1 in the tournament. Besides beating Etowah in the final, the Raiders beat Glencoe 14–1 and Wellborn 14-0 on Saturday. Pleasant Valley beat West End-Walnut Grove 4-2 and lost to Etowah 10-9 on Friday.
“I’m really pleased with my bunch and how they rebounded after a rough start on Friday versus Etowah in pool play,” Pleasant Valley coach David Bryant said.
Robinson’s winning hit came when she pinch hit in the fifth inning.
The Raiders also got a solo home run from Lily Henry and Ellie Patterson’s RBI single.
Henry pitched the first 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs and no walks with three strikeouts. Haylie Lee got the win, retiring two of the final three batters.
Lee allowed four hits with four strikeouts against Glencoe, and Pleasant Valley got several strong outings at the plate: Cailey Almaroad 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Ava Washington 2-for-3, two runs and an RBI; Alexa Cranmer 2-for-2, three runs and an RBI; Henry 2-for-3, three runs and an RBI; Elise Wheeler 1-for-2, a run and an RBI; Lee 1-for-2 with two RBIs; and Abby Evans 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Evans pitched a three-hitter against Wellborn, striking out four batters. Top plate producers included the following: Almaroad 2-for-4, two runs, one RBI; Washington 1-for-4, one RBI; Cranmer 1-for-4, three runs and two RBIs; Henry 3-for-3, a double, three RBIs, one run; Lee 1-for-2, two runs; Robinson 2-for-2, a double, three RBIs, one run; Patterson 1-for-1, one run; Sarah Freeman 2-for-3, two runs, one RBI; and Evans 1-for-3 with a run.
HANDLEY GOES 3-1: The Tigers beat Reeltown 10-1, Greenville 3-1 and Alabama Christian 2-1 before falling to Central-Clay 6-5 in the Valley High School tournament.
Against Reeltown, Brayden Watkins was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs, and Rayna Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run. Brynnley Lane tripled and drove in two runs, and Clair Pike was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Smith and Watkins combined to allow two hits in four innings. They had a strikeout apiece.
Against Greenville, Watkins was 2-for-3, and Makenzie McCain was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Riley Bradley had a single and an RBI.
McCain pitched all five innings, allowing no hits and one unearned run with six strikeouts.
Handley scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead against ACA, scoring on Lane’s RBI triple and Watkins’ ground ball. Watkins allowed no hits or runs with five strikeouts over four innings, and Smith got the win, allowing two hits and one unearned run and one strikeout in two innings.
Olivia Cobb had a double and two RBIs against Central-Clay, and Watkins went 2-for-3. Smith had a single and RBI.
MUNFORD GOES 3-0: The Lions beat Ohatchee 5-2, Jacksonville 11-4 and Ragland 17-1.
Against Ohatchee, Brooklyn Pressley homered, doubled, drove in two runs and scored one. Addyson Britt was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI, and R Dew singled home a run. Pressley got the win, working 3 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs with four strikeouts.
Top performers against Jacksonville: Madison Arnold 3-for-4 with a double and two runs; Chloe Pickett 2-for-4 with an RBI; Pressley 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs; Kastin Lathem 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI; Jena Gaither 1-for-1 with a double, a run and an RBI; Crimson Conner 1-for-1 with a double, two RBIs and two runs; A Britt 2-for-3, two RBIs.
Pressley got the win, allowing two hits and one earned run with five strikeouts in three innings.
Lathem and Natalie Garrett homered against Ragland. Garrett was 1-for-2 with three RBIs, and Lathem was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs.
Arnold went 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, Ashtyn Bishop 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, Raleigh Dew 1-for-1 with a run and RBI; Britt 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, Pickett 1-for-2 with an RBI, Marlie Hall 1-for-1 with an RBI, Conner with a double and a run and Bayleigh Durham 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Arnold got the win, allowing three hits and one earned run with five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
JACKSONVILLE DROPS TWO: The Golden Eagles fell to Munford 11-4 and Prattville Christian 8-3.
Against Munford, Raybon Pridgen went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Dailyn Wood went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Alyssa Barnes had a double, run and RBI. Avery Allen doubled and scored a run, and Ana Strain singled and scored a run.
Against PCA, Barnes and Wood each went 2-for-3 with a run, and Sadee Pate-Whitfield had a single and an RBI.
OHATCHEE DROPS TWO: The Indians fell to Munford 5-2 and Prattville Christian 8-0 to fall to 10-3 on the season. Reese Steward had a double and two RBIs against Munford, and Mackenzie Luna had a double and a run.
