Weaver’s Johannson, Jolliff take top-wrestler honors. Weaver’s Brown, White Plains’ Manning coaches of year.

Editor’s note: All-Calhoun County wrestlers determined by championship finals at the county wrestling tournament in January. Weight-class champions are first team, and runners up are second team. Postseason success factored into wrestler-of-the-year choices. Coaches voted Todd Manning boys’ coach of the year at the county tournament.

2025 Girls’ All-Calhoun County wrestling team

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
Lena Johannson, Weaver

Weaver’s Lena Johannson finished off a stellar high school career with her fifth individual state title and was most valuable wrestler of the first-ever AHSAA-sanctioned Class 1A-5A state tournament in February at Huntsville’s Von Braun Center. WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
Brandon Jolliff, Weaver

Weaver’s Brandon Jolliff celebrates after winning the Class 1A-4A state title in the 287-pound weight class in February in Huntsville’s Von Braun Center. He also won his weight class in the Calhoun County Tournament at Alexandria High School. Todd Manning, White Plains

Calhoun County coaches voted White Plains’ Todd Manning as county coach of the year at the county tournament in January at Alexandria High School.
