SAKS — Jesse Gannaway and Grant Daffron combined to pitch a one-hitter, and Jacksonville Christian beat Saks 22-1 on Friday.

The Thunder improved to 7-4.

Gannaway had six strikeouts while allowing no hits and one walk in two innings, and Daffron allowed one hit, one walk and one earned run with one strikeout in an inning of work.

Bryson Dowdey had a team-high four RBIs while going 2-for-4 with three runs. Noah Lee went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs and two RBIs.

Gannaway added two RBIs and three runs, and Moses Averette had a single, two RBIs and two runs.

Skyler Crider and Caleb Stallings each had a single, a run and an RBI, and Nick Brodeur had a double, two runs and an RBI.

D.J. Tuck had Saks’ lone hit, a single, and had an RBI.

GLENCOE 11, WELLBORN 1: Glencoe’s Levi Lasseter and Aiden Johnson combined to pitch a one-hitter, and Glencoe improved to 4-13.’

Lasseter got the win, allowing one hit, three walks and one earned run with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Johnson worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one walk with seven strikeouts.

Jayden Patton led the way at the plate with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Jake Boggs went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a run.

Jaxon Hollis went 2-for-3 with a run, and Johnson was 2-for-4 with a run.

Brady Greenwood got Wellborn’s hit, a single, and Ashton Woodard scored the Panthers’ run. Wellborn is 8-12.

HOKES BLUFF 8, PLEASANT VALLEY 5: Drew McCarver went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Hokes Bluff won at Pleasant Valley.

Logan Wiemann went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Anderson Morgan was 1-for-2 with two runs. Colten Shields was 1-for-3 with two runs.

Pleasant Valley’s Noah Johnson went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Peyton Mann went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Will Underwood went 2-for-4. Logan Williams and Dallas Roper each had a single and a run.

SPRING GARDEN 10, CEDAR BLUFF 5: Grey Simpson went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Spring Garden upped to 10-7.

Clayton Sadler went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Connor Bates went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Hayes Garmon went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Noah Barber went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run.

MUNFORD SPLITS: The Lions (11-5) beat Ranburne 2-1 and lost to St. Clair County 3-2.

Landon Gallahair pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts against Ranburne. B Wilson had a double, a run and an RBI, and Kyler Shaw had a single and an RBI.

Trenton Stringfellow went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

Ranburne’s Sylas Thomas had a single and an RBI, and James Ward went 2-for-3 with a run.

St. Clair County took a 3-2 lead with two runs in the top of the seventh inning, and Munford left bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh.

Among Munford’s six hits, Shaw had a double, and the Lions got a single apiece from Lathan Stephens, B.J. Anderson, Gatlin Watts, Stringfellow and Gallahair. 

Anderson, Austin Wynn and Wilson combined to hold St. Clair County to five hits. Anderson had seven strikeouts, Wynn six and Wilson one.

DESHLER 8, PIEDMONT 6: Piedmont’s Aliandre Wright went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Cole Austin went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Cole Wilson, Carson Sanders and Brenan Hurst each had a single and an RBI, and Brodie Homesley went 2-for-2 with a run.

Softball

OXFORD SPLITS: Playing in the Spring Sting at Choccolocco Park, Oxford (7-9) beat Hokes Bluff 8-1 and fell to Saraland 8-7.

Jayla Jackson pitched a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts against Hokes Bluff. She also went 2-for-4 with a run.

Kylee Stephens went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, Pruitt had two doubles, a run and an RBI, and Madison Murphy added a double and an RBI.

Emma Tims-Becerra went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Charleigh Trotter had a single and an RBI. Jordyn Alexander hit a double and scored two runs.

Tims-Becerra went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI against Saraland. Alexander added a double, two runs and an RBI, and Koriyah Kimbrough added a double and an RBI.

Haleigh Pruitt and Cadence Kennedy each had a single, a run and an RBI, and Jackson went 2-for-4 with a run. 

WHITE PLAINS SPLiTS: Also playing in the Spring Sting at Choccolocco Park, White Plains (13-8) beat Hokes Bluff 12-0 and lost to Gulf Shores 6-2.

Leighton Arnold pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts against Hokes Bluff. She also went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. 

Carli Fritts went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run, and Sara Kate Adams went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Jaylie Holt went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs., and Carleigh-Anne Green added a single and two RBIs.

Emma Tidwell and Ansley Prichard each had a single, an RBI and a run.

Lacey Grace Hall had Hokes Bluff’s hit, a single.

Against Gulf Shores, Adams had a triple and an RBI, and Fritts went 2-for-3 with a double. Green went 2-for-3 with a run, and Prichard added an RBI.

PV SPLITS: Playing at Sardis, the Raiders (19-6) lost to Sardis 2-1 and rebounded to beat Skyline 5-0.

Lily Henry pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks against Skyline, and Hanna Henry had two RBIs.

Haylie Lee went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Lilly Robinson had an RBI, and Alexa Cranmer hit a double.

Lee got the loss against Sardis but pitched three strong innings, allowing one hit, two walks and one earned run with four strikeouts. Abby Evans pitched two strong innings, as well, allowing one walk and one unearned run.

Aubree Cromer went 3-for-3, and Cailey Almaroad went 2-for-2. Cranmer had an RBI.
