OXFORD — Charlie Maniscalco went 1-for-2 with a team-high three RBIs, and Oxford beat Etowah 8-4 on Saturday at Choccolocco Park to extend its winning streak to 12 games.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 22-7.
Marcus Lawler went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Bryson Bradford went 3-for-3 with two runs.
Hudson Gilman was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run, and Nick Richardson went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
James Tapley went 1-for-2 with two runs.
OHATCHEE 15, WEAVER 5: Drake Kay went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs,and Ohatchee improved to 8-13.
Alston Carroll went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, and Colby Hester went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
The Indians got an RBI apiece from Xavier Luna (3-for-4, triple, double, three runs), Hunter Brown (1-for-3, two runs), Jake Roberson (3-for-4, double, two runs), Josh Hulbert (1-for-4, double, one run), Ethan Jones (1-for-2, double, two runs) and Jakson Smith.
Weaver’s Cael Fulmer went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Demarion Whelch was 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Tucker Michaels and Connor Hyatt each had a single and an RBI.
The Bearcats are 7–16.
PIEDMONT 3, WHITE PLAINS 2: Playing at White Plains, Piedmont’s Cole Wilson spread out five hits with seven strikeouts on the way to the win, and Brodie Homesley struck out three batters while working two perfect innings.
Homesley also had a double and an RBI, and the Bulldogs got a single and RBI apiece from Wilson and Brenan Hurst. Austin Cole went 2-for-3 with a run.
White Plains Ashton and Dalton Luker each had a double and an RBI, and Crew Martin went 2-for-3 with a run.
Aiden Kilgore pitched a complete game, spreading out seven hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
PIEDMONT 5, HANDLEY 4: Brayden Estes went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Piedmont won two games at White Plains on Saturday.
Cole Austin went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Aliandre Wright was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Ben Dempsey got the win, working two innings of relief. He allowed three hits but no walks and one earned run with one strikeout.
Handley’s Jaqualon Dunson went 3-for-4 with a run. Ben Pike went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Joshua Murr was 2-for-3 with a double and a run.
HANDLEY 7, WHITE PLAINS 6: Handley took the lead with four runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Ben Pike led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, all three RBIs coming on his fourth-inning double. Cordan Patterson got the rally started with an RBI single and finished 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Kaleb Powell finished 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
White Plains’ Jacob Stamm finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Dalton Luker went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs.
Luke Richardson went 2-for-2 with a double and a run, and Ashton Wallace went 1-for-3 with a double and a run.
