JACKSONVILLE — Nick Brodeur’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Jacksonville Christian an 18-17 victory over Anniston in Friday’s high school baseball action at Henry Farm Park.
The Thunder improved to 10-6, and Anniston is 3-10.
Brodeur finished the day 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs.
Jesse Gannaway went 4-for-6 with a triple, a double, four RBIs and two runs, and Noah Lee went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs and an RBI.
Skyler Crider went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, and the Thunder got a single and RBI apiece from Caleb Stallings and Grant Daffron.
Anniston’s Dylan Goodson went 2-for-6 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs. Zamari Hawkins went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs, and Cameron Williams went 2-for-5 with a run.
Ha’raggi Harris went 1-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, and Caleb Ackles went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
HOPE CHRISTIAN 5-6, NORTH SPRINGS (Ga.) 8-5: Hope Christian split a doubleheader against North Springs, falling 8-5 in the first game and winning the second 6-5.
The Saints stand at 19-7 on the season.
Hope scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of the second game on Eli Bozeman’s RBI single and Aziah Amberson’s sacrifice fly then stopped a North Springs rally at two runs in the top of the seventh.
Trevor Ryals pitched a complete-game victory, allowing 12 hits and two walks but only two earned runs with two strikeouts.
Bozeman went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, and Amberson contributed two RBIs and a run. Ryals added a single and an RBI.
Kainen Bozeman went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs in the first game, and Amberson had a double and two RBIs. Sean Perez went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Cayden Slick went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
WEAVER 12, WELLBORN 11: In a game that ended late Thursday, Weaver scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning on a passed ball and Connor Hyatt’s RBI single to take the lead.
The Bearcats (9-17) kept Wellborn (9-15) from crossing the plate in the bottom of the seventh and won the Class 3A, Area 9 series.
Weaver’s Jalen Kendall went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Hyatt, Tracen Jones and Landon Free each went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Haiden Hise went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Cael Fulmer had a single and two runs. Carson Campbell went 2-for-5.
Ethan Hamilton got the win, allowing one hit, two walks and two earned runs with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
Wellborn’s Tanner Ingram went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Sawyer Thomas went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Zack Pressley went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
Softball
PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: The Raiders (26-10 lost to Leeds 3-1 then rebounded to beat Beulah 5-3.
Haylie Lee got the win against Beulah, allowing four hits, two walks and one earned run with five strikeouts in five innings. She also went 1-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Ellie Patterson went 2-for-2 with a run, and Lilly Robinson went 1-for-2 with a double and a run.
Lily Henry went 1-for-3 with an RBI against Leeds. Lee and Robinson each went 2-for-3.
RANDOLPH COUNTY WINS TWO: The Tigers (12-7) beat Oak Grove 3-1 and Victory Christian 5-1.
Khloe Yates got the win against Oak Grove, allowing three hits with four strikeouts in four innings.
Gracie Huckeba hit a solo home run, and Hannah Parmer had a single and an RBI. Bryer Thompson went 1-for-1 with two runs.
Lizzie Milam got the win against Victory, spreading out six hits with no walks and five strikeouts in five innings. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate.
Aniyah Lee went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Parmer contributed an RBI and a run.
WOODLAND 6, SAND ROCK 3: Kinsley McDaniel had a triple and three RBIs, and Woodland improved to 20-3.
AlyssaTaylor went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and an RBI, and Ella Waites added an RBI.
Railey Williams, Maddie Fordham and Allie Puckett combined to hold Sand Rock to five hits. Williams got the win, striking out five batters and allowing one hit with no walks in two innings.
WELLBORN SPLITS: The Panthers (6-10) fell to Oak Grove 4-0 and beat Childersburg 4-3.
Cassidy Gray went 2-for-2 with a home run and a double and three RBIs against Childersburg, and Destiny Benefield was 2-for-2 with two runs.
Gray pitched all four innings, allowing seven hits, one walk and two earned runs with three strikeouts.
Brylee Ward had Wellborn’s hit against Oak Grove, a single.
JACKSONVILLE WINS TWO: The Golden Eagles (10-12) beat Ranburne 8-3 and Cleburne County 5-2.
Dailyn Wood went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run against Ranburne, and Lacey Barnes went 1-for-1 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Raybon Pridgen went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
Avery Allen had a single and an RBI and got the win, allowing four hits, no walks and no earned runs.
Ranburne’s R Graham went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.
Wood went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and three RBIs against Cleburne County, and Sadee Pate-Whitfield hit a solo home run.
Pridgen hit a double, and Allen and Ana Strain each went 1-for-2 with a run.
