WHITE PLAINS — Alexandria’s Brenlee Sparks and White Plains’ Leighton Arnold hit two home runs apiece, and Alexandria prevailed 12-8 in Monday’s high school softball action.
Sparks went 3-for-5 with six RBIs and two runs, and her day included a grand slam to give Alexandria (28-7-2) a 12-4 lead in the top of the seventh inning and a double.
Arnold went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs.
Alexandria amassed 16 hits. Cali Hess went 3-for-5 with a triple and a double, and Allyssa Hunt went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Pressley Slaton had a single and two RBIs, and BooBoo Bright went 2-for-4 with a run.
Slaton got the win, allowing seven hits with nine strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings.
Karli Otwell hit a solo home run for White Plains (17-13), and Sara Kate Adams went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run.
Jaylie Holt went 2-for-4 with a run.
RANBURNE 6, WEAVER 4: Rylie Duke went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, and Ranburne improved to 11-12.
K.K. Rollins went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Aubie Rollins added a double and an RBI. Autumn Lovvorn went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs.
Ava Jackson got the win, spreading out five hits with no walks and two earned runs in five innings.
For Weaver (8-12), Ashlyn Coleman hit a solo home run, and Maddie Stanford went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Ali Anderson, Stevie McGinnis and Anna Shirvinski each added a single, a run and an RBI.
SPRING GARDEN 7, SAND ROCK 0: Avery Steward pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, and Spring Garden improved to 11-9-2. She also singled and scored a run.
Rylie Ham went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and the Panthers got a single and RBI apiece from Maggie Jarrett and Addie Word. Helena Ingram and Lilly McCain added an RBI apiece.
Olivia Law added a single and a run.
WELLBORN 9, TALLADEGA 2: Cassidy Gray went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Wellborn upped to 7-11.
Jordan Hunt went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Maci Maxwell, Gabby Tignor and Destiny Benefield each had a double, a run and an RBI, and Benefield spread out six Talladega hits over seven innings with eight strikeouts.
Talladega’s Destiny Twyman went 2-for-3 with a double and a run, and Camille Duncan added a triple and a run. Jillyrica Elston singled and had an RBI.
LINCOLN 8, OHATCHEE 7: Cameron Pruitt hit a three-run home run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk it off, and Lincoln improved to 25-15-1.
She finished 2-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBIs.
Shelby Williams went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Maddie Smith went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Chandler Stephens added a double, a run and an RBI.
For Ohatchee (21-10), Alanah Fitch went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Reese Steward added a single and two RBIs. Mollee Barnes added a single, a run and an RBI.
ANNISTON 7-7, VALLEY HEAD 4-12: Anniston split a doubleheader with Valley Head, winning 7-4 and falling 12-7.
Arianna Storey went 3-for-3 in the first game, and Aubree Thomas went 2-for-4. Lyric Williams struck out four batters.
Zarianna Burnett went 2-for-4 with a triple in the second game.

Baseball
CENTRAL-CLAY 20, HORSESHOE BEND 8: Kalvin Simmons and Tyler Boyd had four RBIs apiece, and Central-Clay improved to 12-12.
Simmons went 3-for-4 with a double and five runs, and Boyd went 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs.
Taylor Boyd added a triple, three RBIs and a run, and Hudson Foster went 2-for-3 with two doubles, four runs and two RBIs.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 4, OHATCHEE 2: Carson Tittle hit a double and scored a run, and the Warriors (18-13) got a single and run apiece from Parker Wilson and Case Hill.
Wilson also allowed one hit and no runs with six strikeouts in three innings on the mound.
Ohatchee’s Drake Kay went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Colby Hester went 2-for-3 with a double, and Xavier Luna went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Lune pitched six innings, allowing three hits and no earned runs with 10 strikeouts.
FAITH CHRISTIAN 8, COOSA CHRISTIAN 1: Faith;’s Jayden Smith pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 1-for–2 with two runs and an RBI.
Canden Martin went 1-for-3 with three RBIs, and Colton Reese went 2-for-3 with three runs. Toby Ricard and Dylan Rogers each had a double and an RBI,
MUNFORD 12, GLENCOE 4: Munford’s Trenton Stringfellow went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and the Lions improved to 16-7.
Lathan Stephens went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Austin Wynn went 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Kyler Shaw had a triple, two runs and an RBI, and B.J. Anderson went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
Glencoe’s Aiden Johnson had a single and two RBIs, and Jake Boggs went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Grant Smith and Jaxon Hollis each had a single and an RBI.
HOKES BLUFF 12, PIEDMONT 11: Brodie Brogdon’s RBI single capped Hokes Bluff’s four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh, and the Eagles improved to 19-12.
Hokes Bluff’s rally in the seventh answered Piedmont’s four-run rally in the top of the seventh. Logan Wiemann hit a two-run single, and Bryce Whitaker grounded home a run.
Wieman went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run, and Bray Bearden went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Brogdon went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, and Colten Shields went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Drew McCarver went 3-for-4 with a double and a run.
Piedmont’s Cole Wilson went 4-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and a run. Cole Austin went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs, and Jaxson Howard went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Brayden Estes went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
SOUTHSIDE 8, JACKSONVILLE 4: Southside’s Abe Martin went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs, and the Panthers got a double and RBI apiece from Shelby Houston and Ethan Sarratt. Carson McGraw added a single, a run and an RBI.
Jacksonville’s Jackson Bonner went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and the Golden Eagles got an RBI apiece from Xaye Lemon and Parker Moore.
PLEASANT VALLEY 8, WELLBORN 2: Pleasant Valley’s Noah Johnson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Will Underwood had a double, two runs and an RBI.
Nic Acker and Greer Laros added an RBI apiece.
Five Raider pitchers combined to hold Wellborn to a hit apiece. Dallas Roper got the win, allowing one hit with two strikeouts in two innings.
Wellborn’s Zack Pressley went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 12, WHITE PLAINS 2: Westbrook Christian’s Fisher Daniel tripled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Brady Carden went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Dylan Rainey went 3-for-4 with a run. Bo Kilgo had a single, a run and an RBI.
White Plains’ Luke Richardson had a double and an RBI, and Logan Laube added a single and an RBI.
Soccer
DONOHO GIRLS 11, FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Samantha Wakefield led the way with four goals and three assists, and Donoho clinched the 1A-3A, Area 5 championship.
Anna Kate Wallace had four goals and one assist.
Chloe Melton had a goal and two assists, and the Falcons got a goal apiece from Ava Adderholt, Lauren Wigley and Katelyn McMorris.
