OXFORD — Hope Christian swept Macon East 2-1 and 5-4 in Monday’s high school baseball action and will head into the AISA playoffs at 21-8.

Eli Bozeman pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the first game, and Aziah Amberson had a triple and a run. Trevor Ryals had an RBI.

Sean Perez and Kainen Bozeman each singled.

Amberson’s RBI single gave Hope a walk-off win in the second game after Macon East scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning. He finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

Eli Bozeman went 2-for-3 with two runs. Ryals had a double and an RBI, and Layton Owensby had a single and an RBI. Lawson Burns hit a double.

Ryals got the win, spreading out seven hits with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Hope has a first-round bye in the four-round AISA playoffs. The Saints will play host to a best-of-3 series against the Snook-Southern Choctaw winner April 22-23.

PIEDMONT 5, PELL CITY 3: Cole Austin went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Piedmont improved to 16-13.

Jaxon Howard added a run and an RBI. Aliandre Wright and Carson Cleveland each had a single.

Cleveland got the win, spreading out seven hits with one walk, one earned run and three strikeouts over five innings. Carson Sanders pitched the final two innings for the save.

CLEBURNE COUNTY 12, OHATCHEE 7: Asher Brown had a single, three RBIs and a run, and Cleburne County ended its season 12-9.

Cade Shubert went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Aiden Laminack added two RBIs and two runs. 

Gabriel Wickersham went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Matthew  Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Tyler Rucker had a double and an RBI, and Hunter Gore went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.

Rucker also pitched five innings, allowing four hits, three walks and no earned runs with five strikeouts.

Ohatchee’s Jake Roberson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brayden Collins went 2-for-4 with three runs, and Ethan Jones went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Colby Hester went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Ohatchee finished 8-14. 

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 7, WEAVER 5: Nic Brodeur went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and JCA improved to 11-6.

Jesse Gannaway had a single and two runs. Bryson Dowdey and Noah Lee each had a single and a run.

Jameson Holderread had a single and two RBIs.

Gannaway got the win, allowing six hits with six strikeouts over seven innings.

Weaver’s Jalen Kendall went 2-for-4 with two runs, and Gage Brown went 2-for-4 with a run. Tracen Jones and Caden Thornton added a single and RBI apiece.

WHITE PLAINS 10, WELLBORN 2: Brodie Beecham went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and White Plains finished its season 12-15.

Luke Richardson went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and two runs, and Dalton Luker went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Ashton Wallace went 1-for-2 with three runs, and Aiden Kilgore went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Kilgore got the win, spreading out six hits with three strikeouts over six innings. Luker didn’t allow a hit or run with one strikeout in one inning of relief.

Wellborn’’s Sawyer Thomas and Zach Pressley each had a single and an RBI.

GLENCOE 13, RAGLAND 3: Parker Gulledge went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Glencoe improved to 7-20.

Jaxon Hollis had two RBIs, and Jackson Mabrey went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Luke Johnson had a single, a run and an RBI, and Jayden Patton went 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs and an RBI.

Jake Boggs went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Aiden Johnson went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

Aiden Freeman went 1-for-2 with two runs.

RANDOLPH COUNTY 8, RANBURNE 7: Ryder Pinson went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Randolph County improved to 6-16.

Daniel Jones added a single, a run and an RBI. Rhett Huddleston went 1-for-3 with two runs, and Michael Robinson went 1-for-3 with one run.

The Tigers took the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh. Pinson hit an RBI double, and Jones hit a sacrifice fly.

Ranburne’s Colton Johnson went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Aiden Jackson and LC 2 each had a single and an RBI, and James Ward and Owen Henderson each had an RBI. Carter Loren added a single and two runs. 

LINCOLN 4, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 2: Cole East had a triple, a run and an RBI, and Lincoln finished its season 18-13.

Nolan Seville added a double, a run and an RBI, and Kade Korreckt 16 added a double and a run.

Bryce Lackey, Carson Perez and Nic Catlett combined to hold Heritage to five hits. Perez struck out nine batters in 3 2/3 innings, and Lackey struck out six in three innings. 

Softball

PLEASANT VALLEY 19, SAND ROCK 0: Seventh-grader Baylee Mae Grogan hit her first varsity home run, a grand slam, and Pleasant Valley (30-11) clinched the Class 2A, Area 13 title and  the right to host the area tournament on April 28-29.

Lily Henry led the Raiders at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and three runs.   

Alexa Cranmer went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Lilly Robinson wetn 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Cailey Almaroad and Aubree Cromer each had two hits, three runs and an RBI.

Haylie Lee went 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs and pitched a shutout to improve to 16-4 on the season. She allowed five hits with three strikeouts over five innings.

OHATCHEE 15, WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 0: Reese Steward went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run, and Ohatchee (22-10) won in Class 3A, Area 11 play.

Savannah Reaves went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run. Jordyn Faulkner went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Mackenzie Luna had a double and two runs, and Mollee Barnes went 2-for-3 with two runs.,

Makayla Brackett had a double and two RBIs and allowed three hits with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of work for the win.

ALEXANDRIA 5, OXFORD 1: Ryan Lumpkin went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, and Alexandria upped to 29-7-2.

Reece Carr went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run, and BooBoo Bright went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Brenlee Sparks had a double and a run, and Pressley Slaton added a double and an RBI.

Slaton got the win, spreading out seven hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings.

Oxford (13-14) got a double and RBI from Madison Murphy, and Jayla Jackson hit a triple.

JACKSONVILLE 11, WELLBORN 1: KaAsiah Williams went  2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and Jacksonville improved to 11-13.

Dailyn Wood went 2-for-3 with a homer, a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Harper Atchley went 3-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI.

Chloe Lockett and Sadee Pate-Whitfield had a single and RBI apiece, and Whitfield scored a run.

Lockett spread out five hits with two strikeouts in five innings.

Wellborn’s Jordan Hunt had a single and an RBI, and Destiny Benefield went 2-for-3 with a run.

SAKS 8, WADLEY 6: A.J. Twymon’s two-run triple capped off a three-run Saks eighth inning, and the Wildcats walked it off against Wadley.

D’Carol Kidd got the rally started with an RBI single. She finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Raina Zackary went 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Adrianna Stevens went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI.

Ava Snead got the win, allowing one hit, no walks and no earned runs with six strikeouts over four innings.

GLENCOE 11, PIEDMONT 1: Evelyn Nowak went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Glencoe improved to 7-15 with a win in Class 3A, Area 12 play.

Isabella Romano went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run, and Sadie Waldrop went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.

Kynsley Freeman went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs, and Katy Talbot had a double, a run and an RBI. McKenzi Landers added a double and a run, and Caitlin Romano went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Nowak allowed four hits and one earned run with two strikeouts in five innings.

Piedmont’s Cayla Brothers went 2-for-3 with an RBI. N Yakely and Cacey Brothers added a single apiece.

MUNFORD 10, HANDLEY 6: Kastin Lathem went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run, and Munford (21-6-1) won in Class 4A, Area 8 play.

Brooklyn Pressley went 1-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, and Jena Gaither went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Addyson Britt went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Chloe Prickette went 2-for-4 with a run.

Handley’s Brynnley Lane went 3-for-4 with a run, and Makenzie McCain went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Olivia Cobb went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Aliyah Wilson had two RBIs.

The Tigers are 16-19.

SPRING GARDEN 22, GAYLESVILLE 0: Layla Ingram went 2-for-2 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and three runs, and Spring Garden upped to 12-9-2.

Helena Ingram had a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Ava Boatner went 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBIs. Lleyton Carroll went 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.

Avery Steward went 1-for-3 with three runs, and Maggie Jarrett hit a triple.

Addie Word and Kendall Birchfield combined to hold Gaylesville to no hits in three innings.

WOODLAND 11, RANDOLPH COUNTY 0: Railey Williams pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and Woodland improved to 23-5. She also went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs.

Emma Elsberry went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Skylar Vann went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Maddie Fordham went 2-for-2 with a double and a run.

Hannah Parmer had Randolph County’s hit, a double.

ANNISTON 18, TALLADEGA 3: Anniston’s Lyric Williams struck out nine batters.

Soccer

WEAVER BOYS 4, CHILDERSBURG 0: Weaver’s Uli Lazcano scored three goals, and Gianluca Torres added a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Joe Vines had four saves.
