WHITE PLAINS — Leighton Arnold and Carli Fritts turned in two strong pitching performances, and White Plains beat Southside 4-2 and West End-Walnut Grove 2-0 on Friday at home.
The Wildcats improved to 20-13.
Arnold allowed two hits with eight strikeouts over four innings against Southside. Fritts spread out five hits with six strikeouts over six innings against West End.
Offensive highlights against Southside included Karli Otwell’s triple and two RBIs. Sara Kate Adams singled with an RBI, and Arnold and Fritts each doubled.
Against West End, Jaylie Holt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run.
ALEXANDRIA WINS, TIES: Playing at the Hoover Met Complex, Alexandria beat Tuscaloosa County 4-3 and tied Pell City 5-5.
Pressley Slaton went 2-for-3 with an RBI against Tuscaloosa County. Kaden Pritchett went 1-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Allyssa Hunt had singled and scored two runs, and Charlee Parris tripled and scored a run.
Carli Hess singled and an RBI.
Khloe England got the win, spreading out three hits with two strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings. Reece Carr allowed one hit but no runs or walks in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
Hess hit a solo home run against Pell City, and Brenlee Sparks went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Slaton had a single and an RBI.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 15-9, GAYLESVILLE 0-1: Addy Lee and Sophie Williams allowed a combined two hits with 16 combined strikeouts, and JCA (5-10) swept in Class 1A, Area 12 play.
Lee allowed one hit with four strikeouts in the first game, and Williams allowed one hit with 12 strikeouts in the second.
The Thunder had lots of offensive highlights. The first game saw Williams go 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Symone Estell went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.
Lee went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two RBIs and a run, and Cali Sexton went 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Mollie Mullinax went 2-for-3 with a run, and Taylor Cash went 1-for-2 with a double, three runs and an RBI.
Carlie Chesson homered while going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run in the second game. Williams and Bryleigh Reid each had two hits, an RBI and a run, and Sexton tripled with a run and an RBI.
JACKSONVILLE SPLITS: Jacksonville (13-15) fell to Southeastern 12-3 then beat J.B. Pennington 9-1.
Avery Allen allowed three hits with three strikeouts in four innings against J.B. Pennington. She also doubled and scored two runs.
Dailyn Wood went 1-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs.Sadee Pate-Whitfield and Raybon Pridgen each had two hits and an RBI, and Harper Atchley went 2-for-3 with a run.
Pridgen and Chloe Lockett each had a double, a run and an RBI against Southeastern, and Whitfield doubled and scored a run.
PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: Pleasant Valley (32-12) lost to Cullman 7-2 then beat Corner 2-0.
Haylie Lee pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts against Corner. She also hit a double.
Lily Henry went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Alexa Cranmer singled and scored a run.
Ellie Patterson went 2-for-3 with an RBI against Cullman, and Lilly Robinson had a single and RBI. Aubree Cromer went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run, and Cranmer went 2-for-3.
SPRING GARDEN SPLITS: Spring Garden (13-10-2) lost to Vestavia Hills 10-2 and beat Cleveland 6-4.
Olivia Law went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs against Cleveland, and Addie Word went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Avery Steward added a single and an RBI.
Lilly McCain got the win, spreading out six hits with five strikeouts in six innings.
Steward went 1-for-2 with a single and an RBI against Vestavia Hills, and Helena Ingram went 2-for-3,
MUNFORD 9, WEST END 7: Addyson Britt 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and Munford improved to 24-6-1.
Madison Arnold went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs, and Brooklyn Pressley added a single and an RBI.
Chloe Prickette went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run.
Arnold got the win, pitching a perfect inning of relief with one strikeout.
RANBURNE 6, CLEBURNE COUNTY 3: Peyton Smith singled and drove in two runs, and Karoline Meadows had a single and an RBI as Ranburne improved to 13-13.
Shaylie Reaves added a single and an RBI.
K.K. Rollins went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs, and Aubie Rollins added a double, a run and an RBI.
Meadows got the win, allowing four hits with five strikeouts in six innings. Addison Gibbs allowed no hits or walks and one unearned run in one inning of relief.

DONOHO GIRLS 10, CHILDERSBURG 0: Samantha Wakefield led undefeated and top-ranked Donoho with four goals and three assists, and Anna Kate Wallace scored three goals to set a new school single-season record as the Falcons upped to 19-0.
Wallace’s hat trick Friday upped her season total to 59 goals, surpassing Lily Wiedmer’s school record of 57.
Donoho upped its season goals differential to 154-9.
The Falcons got a goal apiece from Brooke Vandiber, Lauren Wigley and Addison West. Sophia Sanders had two assists, and Donoho got one apiece from Wigley and Chloe Melton. Goalkeeper Laralee Church had one save.
